PRINCESS ASTRID IMC POSTPONED TO 2021

Princess Astrid IMC, scheduled for 12 – 15 Oct 2020, is postponed until fall of 2021, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. New competition period will be announced fall 2020.

Global travel restrictions and other uncertainties strongly affects both our competition and the international classical music scene as a whole, which is why we find that a postponement is the best way forward for everyone involved.

We admire and thank the numerous violinists that went out of their way to produce application videos during lockdown of universities and other facilities. All applicants may choose whether to let their 2020 application remain in effect until next year, or to apply again in 2021. Application fees will equally remain valid or become reimbursed. As a consequence of this postponement, the age limit is extended to below 31 years for the 2021 edition, making it possible for all 2020 applicants to participate.

Trondheim Symfoniorkester & Opera is very much looking forward to hosting the 21st edition of Princess Astrid International Music Competition in 2021. It is our hope and belief that the competition will be a time of musical joy, inspiring meetings, amazing performances, celebrated concerts - and much more.
